born in Abilene, Texas. He attended Baylor University where he
received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in accounting,
summa cum laude, in 1984. After graduating, Lane sat for and
passed the Certified Public Accountant exam, but rather than
become a licensed CPA, he decided to pursue a career in law.
He returned to Baylor and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence
in 1988. He was a member of Phi Delta Phi and Beta Alpha Psi.
Lane was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1988. He is also
admitted to practice before the United States District Court
for the Northern District of Texas, the United States Court of
Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States Court of
Federal Claims. Lane is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the State Bar of Texas Insurance
Law Section. In 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009 and again in 2010, Lane was selected by his peers
as a “Texas
Super Lawyer.” Lane
practices principally in the areas of Mass Tort Defense, Insurance
Coverage and Commercial Litigation.
