Attorney Profiles

Tanya Smitherman was born in Lubbock, Texas.  As an undergraduate at Texas Tech University, she was selected Leader of the Year.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude.  While attending law school at the Texas Tech University School of Law, Tanya won the Jackson & Walker Moot Court competition and represented her school in national and state moot court competitions.  She received her Juris Doctor in 1989.  Tanya is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel.  In addition to state courts throughout Texas, she is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas.  Tanya practices principally in the areas of Mass Tort, Products Liability and Personal Injury Defense.
